I would be slightly concerned about a gust of wind another camper or an animal somehow knocking the bike over in the night.
Even if it was quite secure, I’d feel like a bicycle is about to drop on me all night.
Aside from the one insane drawback I made up, it is genius.

Yeah you’re gonna do that like twice before you realize it’s a pain in the ass and not worth the hassle. A carbon tarp pole weighs 3oz.

Ignore any hate as this is actually inventive and pragmatic idea. I rode all of Route 66, by myself, on an old MTB with aero bars. The main pain in my ass was the tent and bedding stuff. I also would attach my bike to my ankle with the lock to prevent theft. Your idea could solve all of this AND make the equipment lighter. I am not saying that your setup is perfect but it does have some serious potential and I applaud your idea!!!
