They are getting ready for Redbull Joyride at Whistler, while on the chairlift we noticed small dirt pyramids at the base of the jumps. Does anyone know what these are?
The working theory is for the riders to orient themselves while in the air.

Pretty sure it’s just the trail builders having some fun. They had them last year too.

Extra dirt for packing hole/ruts that may appear. They sift it before they pack it into that shape so it’s just pure dirt with no rocks
