Going with a friend to bike around hawaii. We have 9 days on the big island. I would love to make it to the southernmost point of the U.S and over to Hilo. Any thoughts on this route, tips or advice? TIA

Do you have any prior experience, or does your friend?
Do you have an idea of how far you’re going each day and what resupply looks like?

Are these roads terribly narrow and busy, filled with tourist traffic? If so, that’d be a no for me.

Very cool idea. I’d post this on r/bigisland for more informed assistance. I’m not sure your route east of south point would work. Same with east of Volcano NP. But it’s been years since I’ve been there.
