Overwhelming advice was to get the domane and oh man is it sweet. While it’s not as responsive and quick as the emonda alr5, it’s still so fun and absorbs bumps like a champ. Was also able to ride on some gravel/sand fairly well too.
And if you’re on the fence between the green and the black, get the green. It’s a wicked cool paint and changes colors depending on the light.
If anyone has advice on accessories lmk, my top tube bag is on its way from AliExpress.
Thank you all for the guidance and helping me get outside!

Great bike. Where are you located? That ocean front trail looks nice.
Nice rig bro!
Tires will make a huge difference and I slapped some Conti GP5000s on my Domane.
Get some DLRs for both front and back. Lights make a big difference in getting cars to notice you.
Spare tube, two tire levers, air pump or C02, and a multi tool should have you ready to ride.
Is that Trek in EP RI ??
Great choice!
That’s a pretty sick color
Nice bike. I bought the same one in a 58 the weekend before prices increased from the tariffs. Still wanting to put 38s on it.
Really good choice. Can the shop squeeze the new Pirelli 40c TLR race tires on it? I know it’s 38c max size but hoping it will fit that tire.
Love that color. My wife has the new Checkmate in Lichen Green. She named it Grasshopper.
I really like this bike, especially because green is my favorite color, and this one has basically my favorite shade of green. I ended up going with a checkpoint SL5 Gen 2 because it was a carbon bike, and was on clearance which was slightly cheaper by ~$100 USD at the time.
I always do keep looking back at this bike and wondering if I should just get two. My checkpoint is set up for mainly road use, I put some GP 5000s which make the world of a difference.
Give us an update eventually on how it performs and what you changed etc. I’d love to hear it.
Congrats! Beautiful color! Changing the tires made a lot of difference for me. I went with the continental grandprix st r and orange seal endurance sealant (my wheels were already set up tubeless on my Domane SL 5, I’m not sure if the AL 5 has tubes or not).
