hello there good morning everybody welcome to another video by me Mr drone and welcome to Rexom um Rexom Stadium right there uh the racecourse ground is what I will pretty much always call it um but uh we’re here um today to get a a latest update on the on the pitch what we’ve been looking at but also been informed by by several people that the the temporary stand is either totally gone now or it has it is being taken down um so we know Rexum have had plans for a for quite a long time now to build a new cop stand when the new owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mhenny took over um Rexom the cop stand was was pretty much derelct and had to be removed it was not a new so they had to remove it they have had a temporary stand in there which is provided I think around 3,000 seats um it was called the fourth wall but they are um I believe they’ve now taken it down um to start work on the new cop stand which is going to add around 5,000 seats as we start the video we’ll get the drone up in the in a minute and I’ll remind us exactly what’s going on here as we get the drone up but h yeah going to get up now and have a look at it it is at the moment it is Tuesday the 17th of June 2025 and it is about 6:00 it is 6:00 a.m um set off nice and early to get so let’s get the drone up in the air and have a look at it see what’s going on this is um the Racecourse Ground home of Rexom Football Club on the 17th of June 2025 let’s get up there [Music] right okay as we get up in the air now we’re going up looking directly at the cop stand area and I’ll just remind us um what is going on here so Rexom is undertaking a significant stadium expansion project um at this ground the race co ground with with the initial focus on building a new 5,500 seat cop stand the long-term vision includes expanding the stadium to a 55,000 seat capacity potentially making it one of the largest in England the project is part of a broader plan to revitalize the stadium and enhance its facilities to meet UEFA category 4 standards enabling it to host international events the key aspects of the expansion is a new cop stand um the new cop stand will replace a temporary structure and increase the stadium’s capacity by five 5,500 seats the stand is designed by architects populist known for their work on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will include safe standing areas hospitality suites and facilities for players and officials the initial expansion will bring the total capacity to around 15,000 with future plans to reach up to 55,000 the ultimate goal is to transform the racecourse ground into a modern multi-purpose stadium capable of hosting major events and attracting larger crowds and the Welsh government has provided over 17 million pound in public funding to support the COP redevelopment too the new COP stand is expected to be completed by summer 2026 okay everybody so that was just um a little update and some some key aspects of the work here so as we’re looking at it now you can see what is amazing is that that grass that pitch um so we’ve just gone over the the stand and and what’s going on you know with the plans and like I say the key aspects but the that pitch you know last time I was here was okay I didn’t come last week so the week before was probably about 12 days ago and it was sand and that is just that is literally unbelievable how how that’s that green like that you can see the sprinklers sprinklers on the pitch there blowing in the wind so that’s that’s one thing to look at absolutely outstanding and then we’ve got this this area here where the temporary stand was i mean you can see it there see the outline of it completely gone this area was gone anywhere where the um the machinery is that was already um gone that that section as they were using that to gain access for the pitch works um that’s why that doesn’t look as you know you can’t see the outline as much as down here but as we just reminded ourselves there they’re hoping to have this done by summer 2026 so it’ll be absolutely amazing to um to have a look to to keep an eye on this and see how it’s going to look in 2026 with the log longer term longer term plans to turn this into a 55,000 seater stadium the only thing that concerns me um or the only observation I’d probably have being being an Everton fan you know I’ve just watched my team move from Guterson Park um down to our new stadium um the Hill Dickinson Stadium at Brley Mo dock but I’ve just seen us move because we couldn’t expand due to being landlocked because of where the stadium was and that would be the only thing that would concern me here with the Rexom Stadium in the longer term plans um I mean it’s a it’s a it’s a good problem to have don’t get me wrong um but I just look at you know you got a busy road outside this stand here where the turf pub is no that’s a busy road that with with houses directly opposite you know residential directly opposite um over to the right I mean you’ve got you’ve got property right there belonging to the university so that’s going to to certainly restrict what can be done with the Rexom lag stand there and then there’s people on site already it’s only just after 6 but then as we take a flight over look at this lovely pitch again behind um behind this stand coming up now the stock cold brew coffee stand you’ve got Okay you got some uh you got the trees then a car park belonging to the university as well and the university is right there so I’m going to turn around now guys so that’s the only thing that would my only observation is that the future development just wonder how it can be done with all this with all this land around it but guys for now that is our update we have no temporary stand whatsoever completely gone as as the messages I got did inform me work due to begin and plans to complete by summer 2026 it’s been a long time coming as well first time I actually brought a video about the Rexom expansion was actually a couple years ago it was 2023 I’m sure it was um and things were delayed but it certainly looks like it’s it’s good to go now um that temporary stand going is a is actually a really good sign it’s going to decrease the capacity for Rexom here obviously for um their first season in the championship next season but yeah needs must needs must we’ll finish off there guys right okay everybody so there you go that was my latest update of the racecourse ground um home of Rexom FC um at the beginning just gave us uh a little reminder as to the plans here the key aspects uh what we’re um what we know about what what they’re looking to do down here at the Rexom Stadium but uh yeah that pitch that pitch is uh surprising to be honest i know it’s good with the with the new Sisgross pitches and it’s quick and that but honestly I didn’t expect to come here and see it completely green like it is really really really looks good doesn’t it it looks looks outstanding um and yeah the the stand as as I said I had quite a few messages from people saying to me “That stand is now completely gone get down there um and have a look.” So uh yeah first time I could really um get down and and have a little look and yeah it is completely gone which is a really good sign um as I said during the video it will will obviously decrease capacity for the for the short term um which is unfortunate but it needs must isn’t it um it has to be done you know there’s no other way to do it um what do you think about um what I said though with my observations about uh about the where where the stadium actually is and they’re planning to to make it into a 55,000 seater as I said it’s it’s um it’s not it’s not a it’s not me um you know picking fault so to speak of of the stadium it’s just an observation so be grateful for uh for your uh thoughts on that everybody especially Rexom fans um especially you guys you Rexom fans what are your thoughts on it um yeah but guys other than that I’ll obviously get down here um as frequent as I can to to have a look at the stadium and and the cop stand and get some updates so uh yeah uh see you down here maybe next week maybe the week after as soon
