3 weeks since changed new tyre from 25c to 28c, used the same tube, 2 long rides the past 2 weekends. Yesterday while prepping for today's ride I noticed the tyre was very soft, pumped it up to 80psi and short while later heard a pop and lost all air.

3rd pic is the joint comparison to the old tube which had a different puncture. Point of failure is on the rim side and not on a spoke hole. Brand is cyclami. What could have caused this?

  1. Did you follow the instructions of filling the tyre up slightly then pushing the tyre back and forth to make sure the tpu tube is seated properly? If not, the tube can bunch up and then get thin spots, which fail easily. It also could just be a manufacturing error which meant that the tube was already weaker in that region for some reason, resulting in the faliure. Bottom line is with $5 tpu tubes, some of them are gonna be duds.
