Tadej Pogacar is not looking forward to the return to Col de la Loze in stage 18 of the Tour de France 2025 — and for good reason. It was on this brutal Alpine climb in 2023 where Pogacar famously said “I’m gone, I’m dead,” cracking hard and losing time. Now, with the yellow jersey on his back and the Tour entering its decisive phase, Pogacar says he wants to rewrite the script. Hey, Yonas gave you a bit of a hard time yesterday. Uh, tell me the truth. Did he did he put you on the ropes a bit? Yeah, he he give uh he gave it a good try, I will uh admit. And uh yeah, he was trying really good and uh his team did super super job by pacing uh with W Se and Simon in the start and then Tish in the middle and uh he was like had always the lead out to to do attack. So it was a really good uh good ride by them and uh yeah it was uh we did one of the best rides for uh one one time climb. So I think uh yeah it was uh but for me it was a nice day. It was a good day. Yeah. And sure GC is the aim but you did miss out on Von too. I guess it’s cold revenge or or you don’t care. For me yeah personally I I wish I can be good on K lo for sure. It’s a queen stage. That’s the first thing why I want to be good there. But also yeah uh yeah it was a little bit annoying last few years listen whenever I was watching Eurosport listening uh I’m gone I’m dead they were like repeating this like uh like yeah I every every single break was this and was a bit annoying. So uh let’s uh let’s rewrite that day. I think you I think you’re watching the wrong TV channel today. That’s the problem. Um H how generally how is your state of sort of tiredness compared to other tours in the second well getting towards the end of the second week? Oh yeah, of course. I think everybody’s getting tired. I mean uh you know the engines are keep running the mental uh level of riders uh is going down. I think but that doesn’t mean that we we are slowing down. We are still going every day full gas and uh yesterday was the example for like again the first part of for breakaway. Everybody is trying Fugas and and yeah uh of course uh everybody’s getting tired but uh everybody is uh eager to get what they want from uh from this uh tour and uh to push out the maximum until the end I think.
