Hi all, I'm in the market for a gravel bike and have narrowed it down to two options: the Alu Cannondale Topstone 1 with GRX 800/600; or the Cannondale Topstone Carbon 4 with GRX 600/400.
Which is the better choice for 80% tarmac/ 20% single track riding? The carbon bike is ~20% more expensive in my market.

you can upgrade a groupset for cheaper than a whole new frame
I don’t think anyone really regrets getting an alloy Topstone. Cannondale is famous for their aluminium frames really, it has more mount points, it has more standard parts that make tweaks and upgrades a bit easier, and easier to fine tune your fit with different stems if you need to.
Except the big difference here is the carbon has the King Pin and the alloy does not.
You’re not giving up much with a 10 speed GRX 400 group. With the 11 speed group, you get 23 and 25 tooth rear cogs, the ten speed group, a 24.
