Hey Y’all, I’m looking at the following bikes + a used one I sent earlier in the community (2023 canyon Aeroad slx8). Not sure if buying new makes a huge difference but the used one has about 14k miles.
I’m new to road bike scene so advice and insight is appreciated. All the new bikes are in the same price realm due to sales $4300-4999. I don’t want to go above 5k.
I put them into AI and it recommended the Canyon Aeroad SLX 7 due to included powermeter and features.
I’m mostly looking at road bikes for mixed use- 1/2 Ironman, group rides, and rides such as MS-150 here in Texas.
I’m going to go get fitted at a local shop for the cannondale, tarmac (if size is still available), and pinarello.

The used bike I talked the guy down to $2900 if that plays a role in recommendations
I would take either the SL8 or the Cannondale. The Pinarello tube shapes are ugly (imo) and the bike has lesser components, and I’m not a fan of the way Canyons look.
If there was an SL8 with shimano components I would choose that
The new cannondale bikes are very nice. This quite the spread…. There is a difference between aero road and normal ass road bikes I would imagine normal bikes might ride a bit better than an aero frame. I’m on an 8!year old BMC so have no reference for anything this new.
How flexible, old, and athletic are you?
I’d jump on the Canyon Aeroad (used) if you’re fit and flexible. The geometry is pretty aggressive though.
Otherwise I like the Cannondale, good specs and user friendly all around
SSE or the pina.maybe the aeroad aswell, but the sse will be much better. Steal for this price
Felt is not willing to spend up to 4k dollars. However, selling it used would be difficult.
Cannondale if I could spend up to that amount.
