  1. Is it illegal to ride around a roundabout in a circle? 🤣

I can't stop laughing when I think of things like that. Can anyone help? How can I take back control once it ensues?

  2. Ran into my first roundabout while cycling to somewhere new but it was on an A-road with no pedestrian access. Had to get off onto the grass and observe how the cars where doing it before finally getting the courage to get back on the road and continue. Was scared shirtless cuz some cars on the outside lane would go straight while somevwould exit so i just let the cars go first and then set off behind them.

  3. How about we just stop expecting every cyclist to be a road warrior and build proper infrastructure. Here's the litmus test: Would mum feel safe letting 12 year old daughter navigate to school on this road? If no, it's not good enough, build better infrastructure. Can we do that?

  4. I have a roundabout home with a 40 MPH speed limit leading from a down hill bending road moving into that right hand lane at times… Fuck me.. Sometimes the left is a better option even when turning right be safe!

  5. Very poor choice of roundabout for a demonstration video!! On the first roundabout, both approach lanes are marked for turning right so the cyclist should be in the left lane not the right. On a normal roundabout using the outer righthand lane is an invitation for cars to pass on the inside and leave the cyclist stuck in the outside lane with cars speeding past on the inside . This was an oddball roundabout with only the outer exit lane marked for ahead so the cyclist was in the correct lane for this oddball roundabout, but the incorrect lane for a normal roundabout where both exit lanes are for ahead.

  6. How to negotiate a roundabout on a bicycle, use any cycle paths available, even if it means travelling a bit further, theres some right nutters out there in cars who would rather knock you off your bike rather than wait a second.

  7. In Taiwan, bikers do not allow to ride the "inner" lane because we "feel" it safe to the driver with slow velocity, so as to lots of roundabouts. Bikers need to ride the outest lane all the time and stuck in danger when inner cars leave roundabouts. So I should say that there is no right and safe way for bikers in Taiwan. Moreover, we will put the traffic light in some roundabouts.
These all mess caused by our most professial department of Transportation……

  8. A lot of cyclists I've encountered don't do this and treat the roundabout as if they were in a car. They often just cut you off and think that you're in the wrong when you get annoyed. Also helmets and high vis should be law!

  9. This isn't going to work on crazy roundabouts like Hyde Park corner on a busy day. Better to get off and walk the bike around to your exit if trying to exit at three o'clock. Hyde Park Corner can be mad even for a car. It's almost as crazy as the Arc De Triomphe!

  10. I though cyclists could stay on left lane no matter what exit they are taking just that most motorists are unaware of this? personally ill walk round busy roundabouts

  11. Theres a safety tip you forgot,
GET OF THE ROAD BECAUSE YOUR A SAFTEY HAZZARD THAT DOESN'T PAY VEHICLE REGISTRATION !

  12. Thank you, this makes it look easy, but how do I navigate roundabouts with more than 2 lanes in heavy traffic? I anticipate it can get difficult and dangerous to try to make my way to the left, if the traffic happens to be faster than me, especially considering that some drivers will be anxious not to get stuck behind me and I have only one hand on the handlebar when I'm signalling.
