My bike mechanic told me that my SRAM derailleur cage is bent.
It's true that it sometimes has trouble shifting into 4th gear.
After doing some research, it seems this might be normal?
Can anyone confirm this?
I can't remember ever hitting the derailleur hard. It's a SRAM GX Eagle.

Yup, the cage is bent. You should probably replace it.
This is transmission, that is how the cages look. Keeps the chain more in line coming from the crank and going to the cassette.
Looks like you need both a new derailleur and a new cassette.
That hanger looks very bent ,cage looks ok but hard to tell with the hanger that bent .
Your bike mechanic isn’t familiar with SRAM Transmission then. That’s’ ok it’s still a big change from traditional derailleurs.
Knowing this would be an issue, in their guide they have a section titled “It’s supposed to look like that.” Youy can see it about halfway down the page.
