Hi their,

Two days ago, I had my first post in this lovely community. Got my first Brompton 2 days ago and I already need your help.
It stoped holding its folded position, even though it did it out of the box.

When the seat post is down and I pick it up (gently), the hook on the front tier un clips.

What can I do? Should I return it?

Thanks in advance 😌

Check to see if your lower stop disc has fallen off, it attaches to your rear brake caliper to stop this happening.

The nonfolding pedal could be in the way (touchin and blocking the front wheel.

Okay so this version doesnt actually have a lower stop disc as a 12 speed. The part that serves the function of a stop disc is actually in the third picture that black )( shaped thing attached on the frame called a locking block.

What you want to do is unfold the bike partially just until you raise up the seatpost. In the side of that locking block is a hole to the screw that both holds the block in place and allows you to adjust it. Use a 4mm allan key (hex key) to turn it anti clockwise no more than a half turn. Check the fold and if its still happening make the adjustment a couple more times.
