    Its supposed to do that. If you spam thru all the gears, you’re putting a lot of stress and wear on all the systems involved in shifting and it’s an effort by Shimano to reduce that and it’s so minor that when you’re actually riding, you won’t notice it. It’s basically giving the chain a moment to fully engage with the gear prior to the largest so that nothing weird happens.

    If I’m wrong here, please someone correct me but I’m like 98% sure that’s what occurring here

    The top gear is a bigger jump than smaller gear, that “lag” is something also present on acoustic transmissions, you just dont notice it because its not a button but a lever
