  1. I’ve got the same rack, and have a trek Marlin 6 with the same issue. So in to see what everyone else recommends.

  2. Those type of racks are typically meant for road bikes, hence the holder being too small.

Looks like you’ve got a truck, get a truck pad, or yoga mat, or thick towel or whatever.

You are using the wrong type of rack. Get something that will actually last you a while and doesn’t hold your brand new bike by the frame. I’d highly suggest 1Up. Or Velocirax depending on your usage. Even a tailgate pad would be worlds better. Do NOT use this POS rack, though

Also, your shifter/brake lever look like they’re at an extreme angle. Might want to address that

Those cradles are useless for so many different frames. I pulled them off completely. Now I’ve wrapped the racks tube in hockey stick tape and use ski straps to clamp the bike to the rack.

  6. Truck pad is the way to go and is economical. Or splurge and get a 1up like mine if you want a hitch mount rack.

  7. Get a real bike rack for your real bike. Even a cheap thule t2 off marketplace will last you decades. Or get a tailgate pad

  8. hard to tell from this pic, but uhh what’s up with your lever/shifter angles?

Unfortunately those bikes racks are made for mainstream bikes like road bikes or your every day family bikes. They are not built for a lot of these modern day MTB bikes. You’re probably better off finding something else that is specific for wider frames or a bike rack that has the holder that presses down on the top tube(platform for wheels).

Im using this rack too, cant mount others and dont have my personal car yet

I use gib peace of inner tube to it prevents slipping and damage on the top tube, its okay that way!
