Hi their,

Two days ago, I had my first post in this lovely community. Got my first Brompton 2 days ago and I already need your help.
It stoped holding its folded position, even though it did it out of the box.

When the seat post is down and I pick it up (gently), the hook on the front tier un clips.

What can I do? Should I return it?

Thanks in advance 😌

Might be the order of your fold. Fold rear, fold frame, fold stem then drop the seat. It’s not something u need to return for. Take a pic further away from the side. Looks like your hook is not sitting which means that it’s not catching correctly in the steps

Can you post a video of you folding the bike if the already posted suggestions don’t pan out?

    It’s probably the seatpost though.

The part that actually locks the fold in place is the seat post, as well as the “Lower Stop Disc” that’s mounted between the seatstays on the rear fork and makes contact with the seatpost when folded.

If your seatpost is down and the rear fork still has a bit of play in it, allowing that hook in your picture to unhook, check the stop disc; it may need to be adjusted to reduce the gap between it and the seatpost when folded.
