So, we’ve just been to pick up our race pack for the ride gate. Got our race numbers and helmet stickers, things like that. All the timing chips ready for tomorrow. So, I shall see you then. Good morning everyone. We are on route to the start of the ride gate 2025. It’s about 7:00 in the morning. It’s bright and early. Um yeah, feeling it this morning a little bit, but I’ve been up, had breakfast. Looking forward to it. It’s a beautiful day. It is a um 101 km route according to the GPX file when I put it through Google Earth Pro. Um, it starts in Rygate, goes out, heads out to Sussex Way, takes on Turner’s Hill, which is sort of quite famous in its part of the London to Brighton route, but it goes up it from the west side of it rather than coming down from the north side. So, I’ve never never ridden up it that way. So, quite interested to see what that’s like. Um and then out to Kids Hill, which is affectionately known as the wall by some, which sounds lovely. Um yeah, and then loops back through Ashdown Forest, I think, and then and then back to Ry Gates. So, should be a good ride. Hopefully, we can get away fairly early this morning. Don’t not really sure how many people are going to be there. Um it looks like there might be running events going on and all sorts as well. So yeah um we’ll see you when we get there. It’s all about safety. So welcome to um this event So, I’m about 40k in. Um, we’ve already been up Turner’s Hill. I had to stop at the feed stop because my gears were jumping about all over the place. So, had to get the friendly mechanic to sort them out for me. And we’re now on our way to Kids Hill. It does not matter what event I do, I always seem to end up on my own. I had a good little group coming out of Ry Gate. Got in a bit of a chain, got it going. Then every time I hit the lights, my gears stopped or jumped and I lost and I had to catch up again. But that was quite good. But as soon as everything breaks up by like a feed stop or something like that, then I’m just out on my own again, it always happens. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] No charge. I’m charging the storms [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Keep going, mate. Keep working it. Cheers, buddy. It’s not as fun as it sounds, is it? No. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Hey, Heat. [Music] [Music] Turn is Done. Now just that’s about 55k I think. Now I’ve just got to find the next feet stop. Got to have a rest. My knees are done for. Done for in the building. So, I’m back on the road. Uh about just under 70k in. I’ve just stopped at the the second feed stop on route which was at Maison Devel. Um I think they’re sponsoring the event or they provided the technical assistance or the uh mechanical assistance something like that. I think they sponsor the uh the KOM Q uh competition as well. Uh yeah, so had a little stop there. had some salt and vinegar crisps to get some salt back in and a banana and a little wee. And I’m feeling pretty good. You know, 30ks to go. Not bad. The majority of the climbing is done. So, this will be no different from 30k at home, but I’ve got 70k in the legs. So, uh, homewood bound. Thank you. Cheers. Thank you. [Music] Thank you. Well done. Oh, that sounds very good. Thank you very much. Cheers, mate. Thank you very much. So there we go. That’s ride ride gate done. 100 km. Finished in 4 hours and 6 minutes moving time which uh I’m a little bit disappointed with. I wanted to come in under 4 hours but you know it was quite warm. Um spent a lot of time in the wind on my own so I suppose it wasn’t too bad. Um so yeah 100.8 km distance. Moving time 4 hour six. Uh elevation gain was 1,097 meters 2,400 calories burnt. Average speed just under 25 km an hour. I’m fairly happy with that. I mean, Kids Hill nearly killed me, to be honest. So, you know, I’m happy to finish it. I’m I’m pleased I did the whole 100. Um so, yeah, that’s it. That’s the video. Um, leave me a like, subscribe, comment, all of those things, and I will see you in the next video. Bye-bye.
