Elite all of France is of course determined and defined by its mountains and it seems this year more mountains than ever of note with the Oticam dealt with the Tormale the Perasur already behind us. Vontu awaits still with Glandon Meline Los Seel. It was relentless and so we started to tick them off. Jonas Fingo said that he would be taking the battle to Delhi Pagatcha, a man who declared even before we started that Bondu would indeed be a target. He’d love to win there in yellow. He said, “Well, getting there before a breakaway is something else.” And there was lots of determined riders on a day with a long lead in to hell itself. 172 km. Monontto at the end of it with beautiful rolling terrain through provenance just to get at the very foot. An intermediate sprint to draw out something for the sprinters and then of course the bald mountain itself. Magnificent through shadow red hour beyond the tree line. What on earth could spoil the fun? Wind occasionally but not today. Temperatures well reasonably high but survivable. There was one after well Vanat attacking immediately as you heard from race radio and then it settled down. At least we thought it did. Marco and Mark Hershey from Tudar Pro Cycling. Sandra Maurice from Alps in Darnic following on but there was no accord. Nobody wanted to let them up the road. There was teams like Coffidus that were determined to be involved and every attempt there was at a blockard at the front of the pelatin came to n. Others found their way through and then followed by a flood and ultimately we had 32 riders up the road that really believed that they could have the day. Well, already in this race we’ve had six breakaway days. Could it be number seven? Well, plenty believed it could be and the pace was absolutely relentless. We were nudging up over 50 kilometers per hour. We’re kind of getting used to saying those words in this race. And finally, finally, we had a fighting force that would take on the intermediate sprint. Julian Philippe was showboating. Of course, it’s part of his DNA. But when we got to our intermediate sprint, we had a distinct lack of those involved in the points competition. Jonathan Milan had missed out on it after desperately trying several times to get himself up the road. It was not to be for him. Others were having some fun. Well, Abrahamson was one of those up towards the front that got those points, but really it was just about prizes for the mechanics. I think everyone else, well, the mechanics of the day were that deals Pollock would break the heart of anyone else who tried to get up the road. And quite frankly, the breakaway itself was starting to tire. It was also starting to fracture and then got very, very selective. Some amazing riders were indeed up the road. team and Arensman looked at very very strong again. Well, that chase group Perry Pa decided that he had to go now if he was going to have a chance. Ben Healey as well, extricating himself from that group of fine riders. Meanwhile, Enrik Mass pushed on and Enrich Mass looked absolutely amazing. Arensman was tumbling back into the arms of Healey. Meanwhile, Septus was on the blower trying to go as deep as he possibly could, just making sure that he would release the inevitable, which was an attack that would come from Yiannis Finger. In the meantime, Aronman was wound in Perry Pantra bridged over starting to have a little belief as well. Likewise, Yonas Finger, who went for it, got Taliba. This indeed from a group now five minutes down, but just watch that clock. It was starting to tumble because there were some very tired riders further up the road and they were finding some of them out on the road. Healey just trying to invoke a little bit of assistance here from Santiago Brago from Bahrain Victorious. Not a bit of it. You had to help yourself on a day like today and that’s exactly what Yonasfingo decided to do but could not shake Pugatcha. Every time he looked back it was just yellow vision. And so they were closing the gap down towards the 3minut mark with 5.1 kilometers to go. Dropping back camps from that select group had been up the road. Leap of it struggling but helped by Rogich to try and stay in touch with that young riders classification and well placed overall. And then finally we came to the business end of the day. Camponat has done his thing slinging away yet again. And another step taken by Jonas Finger. But every step taken, he had a partner. And that was Bugatta. Barry Pantra and Ben Healey going toe-to-toe. It was like a prize fight. One after the other, they tried to lay blows upon each other, but still with 2.6 km to go, it was a long way, especially with these kind of inclines. Others would bridge over and continue to fight. Massago hadn’t given up. There were others like Elan Van Vilda as well that wanted to help but it was a question of trying to help yourself if you possibly could. 1,200 meters to go. Pagatcha went on the attack. Drama personified. He’s going. He’s out the saddle. Piper’s trying to do it. They’ve still got to turn around and go up the hill. The observatory awaits and watching them come in. You can see that there as well. But here goes. Look at Pantra. There are French hopes. Are they about to be satisfied? And I think they are. Look at Pantra. A dream come true. And finally, it’s the French. This one’s historic. Absolutely wonderful. And then a secondary battle behind of course Pogata just getting another couple of seconds on of course Jonas Vingo. Bar Pantra has broken the dam for French riders on this tour. He got there brilliantly helped by Van Vilda who finished in fourth place. Ben Healey just missing out given the same time as Perry Panrago doggedly in third place on the day. What an amazing win. Bar Pantra Sudal quickstep. They had the disappointment of the departure of Remortal Katanio before him. Look at this though. Dukata 4 minutes and 15 now his lead over Yonas Vingo. Who is going to stop him? Well, it’s a rolling day tomorrow. Then the cold awaits on stage 18. Will this could this be a day off for the GC battle? They kind of earned it today. Our congratulations to Perry Panska, Ben Healey and Brago who made up today’s podium. But overall, Tip Pagata stays in charge [Music] and this is how things will shape up. Jonathan Milan, well, he still leads the points competition and we’ll have a chance tomorrow.

  1. What a stage! I’m a Pog fan, but what a champion Jonas is. Always, always attacking, trying everything. Without him it could be pretty boring. Chapeau to all of them today. Fabulous.

  2. Tadej has now missed the Opportunity to win 2 Mountain stages . Dont know why the Peloton which is UAE , Visma , EF , Ineos , etc are Letting the Breakaway go up the road with No reaction . First Week and A Half was great of this Tour . But the last week is going to the Breakaway and getting boring , Since Neither Tadej / UAE , Nor Jonas / Visma seem to be interested in going for stage wins anymore or they are Fatigued . Tadej had the Oppurtunity to add to his Tour de France stage wins and get closer to Merxcz and Cavendish , but its now falling by the wayside . You cant make up missed opportunities and Tadej and UAE are blowing it when it comes to that. Yes , hes 4 minutes aheaed of Jonas and in good shape to win Tour , and thats great and all , but hes missing valuable stages that he has at least the opportunity to win and increase his TDF Stage wins. Its a Shame .

  3. Where was Lenny? No coverage for the guy in the climber's jersey here. But he's still tied in points although TP is leading that ranking too. Amazing day though. Great to see the mix always changing.

  4. your lance totally destroyerd this sport forever – nothing is belivable – they are all full of doping – every single one of them

  5. Today's road racers look like tall kids. Tall, skinny and utterly look malnourished compared to road racers when I raced in the mid to late 80's. Racers in my day, both amateur and pros looked more muscular and healthy compared to today's road racers.

  6. As a Jonas fan I think this rivalry is incredible and Is it just me but since Jonas’s crash in late 2023 it have put a massive toll in him and pogi is an incredible cyclist

  7. Shout out to Mas for trying. Moviestar been ghosting the race so far
Healy impressed me this year, im a new fan
    P. Peintre i hope is here to stay
I think Ayoso in Moviestar will look great on them. Both should be attracted to each other

  9. Who needs "teammates" when Jonas has been a perfect super-domestique on nearly every mountain stage?
    😂😂😂 … "follow me until you're bored!"
    I 👁 👁 see
