I mean, we have to attack. Let’s be honest. I’m more than 4 minutes behind. So, I’ve had two bad days. Uh, normally I don’t have any bad days. So, uh, yeah, that’s a bit unfortunate, but uh, you can only look forward and if you if you stop believing, then for sure it will not happen. Are you looking forward to the more? Yes. Uh it’s uh it’s a bit of a different day to be honest. It’s flat day and then uh one climb in the end. So yeah, it will be iconic climb. It’s an iconic climb. Yes, sure. Okay. Um, we are not going to talk about a tactical plan, but what if for example is a bit sick like it seems like half a skeleton is what if he for example is vulnerable tomorrow could that’s changed at like at the moment the fact for maybe in early on no I don’t think so I mean uh anyway it will be yeah a super hard climb probably it will be paced really hard from the bottom and then uh yeah if somebody is sick it will show already in uh in the bottom I think. Okay, next one. Yeah, you already can you say that again? Did you already see some weaknesses? H to be honest he uh he’s been looking very strong so far. So, of course, uh I wouldn’t say that that he has any weaknesses. I think he’s one of the most complete riders in the bunch, if not the the most complete rider. Um so, of course, he doesn’t have a lot of weaknesses. And uh yeah, if I found one, I would also not sit here and say it. Yeah. as you know today. So well this year is better. Oh has he improved? I think uh the the biggest improvement both him and I made was actually from 2 years ago until last year and then from there it still went up a little bit but it seems like yeah the biggest improvement was made from 23 to 24. Do you have any sense about your off days? Could it be coming down from camping or don’t know? Yeah, it’s a it’s a really good question. I Yeah, we we’re still looking into it and uh yeah, we haven’t really found an answer yet. Yeah. Do you think you you made any small mistake during this? Uh I mean I’ve had two bad days and yeah when you have that then of course you are also going to lose time but anyone can have a bad day. So yeah can also happen to to today in the in the third week. Um so yeah h yeah yeah I was talking about weaknesses maybe but um he did the classic program uh the whole thing do you think he can be tried from that and in the third maybe from that no I wouldn’t expect that I uh yeah I don’t think you can you can say that ah he had a he had a tough spring and then you think he will go down. I don’t I don’t see it happening. Yes. Um you also seem like more relaxed making a bit more jokes than than we used to with you. Is this something you you try to work on? Yeah. Get a get other image perhaps? No. I mean I don’t I don’t care. People can think whatever they want about me. Well, I don’t care about my my image, but Yeah. No, but it was it’s Yeah. No, but it’s it’s true that in some kind of way I’m probably having more fun now than I did previously. So, yeah. But it’s it’s not something that I deliberately do to to change an image or anything. And maybe you guys know it know him so well, but he’s quite a funny person. Okay. Yeah. you had another I think to be honest the biggest difference is my uh my my two off days that’s where I lost uh basically most of the time so I think uh so far the the difference hasn’t been so big actually and in my opinion it it is less than uh than last Yeah. Yeah. I talked to my show yesterday. Hi. And we talked about last year you pressed of course in the front and this year you pressed as well in in you had some well you missed some races through uh because of that. Yeah. Today didn’t have that problem. So would that also be the difference that you couldn’t progress at that time? last year and this year as you do. I mean for sure the the the crash last year had a big impact. Uh cuz it was not only two steps back, it was uh 10 steps back I felt like. So uh that had a big big impact. But I think the yeah the crash this year didn’t have a an impact because I think after about a week I could start slowly training again. So I didn’t really lose a lot there. And uh I think we saw in in 2020 that actually having a long period of training can be pretty beneficial. Uh back then the whole pelaton increased its level by uh 10% in the co uh period. So yeah, I think just having a long period of training can actually uh make you a lot better than when you have to race all the time. think I mean of course as I said before 4 minutes is is quite a big gap. Uh but I do think that actually I can I can make a difference. Yes. Yeah. Do you think that today would would be so strong this year? like did you imagine like this big difference or I mean uh yes I did expect him to be this strong. Uh I think as I said before the the gaps is mainly because I’ve had two off days. So I yeah I don’t think he’s uh a lot better than he was in Dolphane to be honest. uh if he’s better. Um so no. Yeah, I did expect him to be this strong. Yes. Okay. No English. Yeah. mainly because I know that on on the off days that’s not the level that I that I have that the the performances I did those days were so poor that yeah I know that my level is a lot higher and I know I can do a lot better than that then of course when you know that you don’t lose the the belief in yourself okay yeah behind you of course I have to also So think about the guys behind me. Uh but as I said before, I’m also Yeah. willing to to sacrifice the second place to to try to achieve the first place. Last two questions. Yeah. A follow question on that. Um before there was a lot of talks about the quality of the start list. Are you surprised perhaps by the names who are near you just after you like only vocal? Uh to be honest, no. I mean we saw in in do how good Lipovich is already. So uh I wouldn’t say I’m surprised now. Last one. Yes. I think we can be pretty happy with it. I mean, we we tried in in a lot of the the stages in the first week and I Yeah, I think as you said, we have one of the the best teams ever in the tour front and I think we also showed that. Yes. Thank you very much.

  1. You’re both amazing. It’s not easy being in second place and having to attack Pogi, but you’re making the race exciting too. You may be a bit more introverted compared to Pogi, but that’s totally fine—I like you too. No stress, stay happy, and enjoy the race!

  2. Jonas you are the reason we are still glued to the TDF !
Pogi is predictable and toooo dominant which want me to give him the winning check and send him home so that its game on and a healthy return to real TDF cycling competition !

Im almost bored of Pogi at this stage !

  3. We don’t know any your bad days Jonas ! Only on Tour! But Tour is the ONLY race that you are racing….. sooo … you don’t have any bad days? Really?

  4. I think a Jonas is really missing Wout, and Primoz….

Wout is way off his best, and Primoz is irreplaceable…. Tadej could never let him go up the road.

Anyway, Jonas has a big task ahead…. I don’t know if he has the attacking power that we saw from Pogi in 2023.

    We will see

  5. How cute; Jonas has a baby sitter now. No Jonas you don’t have bad days you just have a guy that is better than you and he is pushing you beyond your limit.

  6. Jumbo visma are a mess this year. The wattages are by far not enough to harm UAE. Only Victor seems to achieve. Jumbo best starts to look to next year and should invest in younger riders i my guess

  7. as a fan, my concern on this Visma team is Jorgenson. He is not motivated in this year tour, maybe the first week but when he purposely dropped in the mountains and leaving Jonas alone
(Jorgenson is in best shape after Dauphine where he was 6th overall) and yet tried to attacked and join the breakaway when Jonas was held back due to crashed. That is really concerning. Did Visma breaks a promised to Jorgenson thats why he's not a teamplayer in this year tour?

  8. Why do they make Jonas wear that huge helmet in the time trials? The thing is almost three times larger than Tadej's. Jonas started falling behind in time trials since he has been wearing this monstrosity.

  9. Annnnnddddd this is why I can’t stand Jonas Vingegaard. Because he lies. If you don’t care what people think about you, Jonas, you would have completed the traitorous attacking of Sepp Kuss at the Vuelta, but the public sentiment favored Sepp, not you or Primoz—which is why you allowed him to win. At least Primoz finally came out and said it—I’m here to win.

You? You danced all around it. Your team is trash for the way they treated Primoz, by having you and Sepp at the Vuelta in the first place, but you want to act as if you are different. You aren’t.

It brings me joy to watch Tadej bust y’all up, proving that money doesn’t solve all problems, and that there is such a thing as karma.

Here’s to at least 4 more years of Tadej kicking your ass, and making your team look completely inept. 🥂
