Doing a tour soon. Will need to ride through rain if it happens. I misplaced my shoulder straps for these old Ortlieb back roller classics. I used them to fold the sides down and never had issues on commutes in heavy rain when I did it that way. Will water get in if I close these as pictured? Also, the strap you see going down the middle of the bag just blows around all the time. Am I supposed to fasten it to something? Can’t remember what I used to do with it back in the day.

Mine (Arkel) have the flaps pulled to the side and down, where as yours are pulled up.
Both ways should work so long as you have 3 wraps before you fold it over.
Yeah that’s fine, but (not sure how to explain this) – I would roll the main bit down in the opposite way to what you have done… if you imagine the bag is open, you have rolled the top towards the clips at the back, I would recommend doing it the other way. As it is, water will pool in the top.
But yeah, otherwise twisting the straps and doing what you have done is all good and should stay dry in lots of rain.
