This bike is posted on FB Marketplace for $80, and seems the size would fit me. I’d want to put fatter tires on it (the seller says it would fit up to 700 x 45), new seat, handlebars, probably a bunch of other stuff. Worth it? What else might I consider revamping if I get it?

i like it – good steel and lugs and a sweet color. i don’t know much else but drivetrain looks ok from what i can see. i’d be careful going full 700×45, especially if you plan on knobbier tires. see if the seller has actually put 45s on and what tire they used. 700×40 or 42 would be safer and plenty wide for shenanigans and knobbies. (i have a frame i was told fit 700x50s so i got 700x47s with some off road tread and they barely fit). otherwise just ride it for a while before changing anything else!
