Let a friend borrow my spare bike for a little social ride. He said the pedaling was feeling funny after a few miles but didn’t mention it until the whole crank came off.
Possibly the most “borked” cranks I have seen without a fracture.

If the outside part is still square it might work. You could file the lumpy stuff and try it. All you can do is ruin it, though I would ride far from home. It’s probably shot though.
Ebay has plenty of replacements.

It’s fixable? Maybe worth a try. Get 2 blocks of hardwood and 1 masonry 2lb hammer. Lay the bike down with the chain ring crank axle centred on one block of wood. Put the loose crank on the axle in its correct position. Screw the retaining nut/bolt on tight. Put the block of wood on the top crank and give it a light whack with the hammer. Tighten both retaining nuts/bolts. Repeat until you cannot get the cranks any tighter. I never had a loose tapered square crank since using this method for tapered square cranks. Hopefully the cranks will stay on?
