I’ve had a flat tire on 2 out of my last 3 rides on my new Canyon Aeroad (I know it doesn’t have anything to do with the bike itself). Most recently today, I had two punctures on a 90-kilometer ride. Both times I’ve gotten a flat, it’s been raining. It’s super frustrating – but is this normal in the rain, or am I just unlucky?

It sucks that you have to do flat repair instead of riding, but that grass looks super comfy!
Definitely not normal. Check the inside of the tire to see if there is a small stone or something else stuck there and the rim tape. Otherwise you should make sure that the inner tube is not pinched between the tire and the wheel
just the luck of the draw sometimes. ive had months with 4-5 punctures, and gone 4-5 months without one.
your options:
tubeless – will help with most punctures, but big holes will need to be plugged. people who run tubeless will sometimes still carry a tube with them as a back up. changing a tire with sealant is no fun.
change tire – GP5000 S TR (i am assuming yours came with this) are race tires with less tread protection for punctions. there is an all-season version of the conti GP5000. another popular (i use popular very loosely bc everyone GP5000s) option is conti gatorskins.
get luckier – just happens. if you see any debris (especially from car accidents or glass) avoid rolling over it.
good luck!
Usually rain will wash bits of debris from trees and hedges into the road, so I’d usually avoid riding in it or immediately afterwards if you can, as it can increase the chances of getting a puncture.
Honestly though, this is either just really bad luck or you didn’t remove the offending item from the tyre after the first puncture. Could also be the road surface you’re riding on if the tarmac is really bad.
A lot can depend on where you are. Where I live we have a lot of flint that gets washed out onto the road when it rains and you can get a lot of small cuts.
Are you sure you have the right size inner-tube?
I dread Post-rain rides because of this. As mentioned, check your inner tube, also have a look for shards wedged in into your tire that you can “pop” back out. Check if your tire pressure is correct to your total weight – I go a bit lower (0.5-1 bar) on short 45 km post rain rides myself. I hate flats, but it’s part of the game and sometimes you’re just fucking unlucky.
It looks like you’re patching the tube? Please tell me I’m wrong. Unless you’re down to you last option.
Check tire, check tube. Maybe also consider going tubeless
Do you have rim tape on? Speaking from, sadly, experience…
I go tubeless and carry a tube for flats !! So comfy and I ride 32s babbyyy
Looks like you have Co2 cartridges. Are you making sure to deflate the tire from all the Co2 and refill with normal air once you finish out the ride? Co2 from those canisters seem to have the tire lose pressure much faster
I had 4 in a week on my aeroroad… looked in the tire, stopped using tire levers, and still no luck. Went tubeless route and its been great!
On my endurace CF SLX 8 after more than 11000km i had only one punkture, and tubless could Not fix it i had to Change the tire.
It is Bad luck.
Dont Take the gatorskin, maybe you cant destroy him, but the roling IS terrible, tace a Look to the grand prix tr, maybe it is a better choice for yor Terrain
Definitely upgrade tires! I personally had issues with these tires and punctures. GP5000 is a good one
Always check inside rim and tire for the culprit. I haven’t done this but making a tight knot where the puncture is will probably get you home if you’re out of tubes. Flats suk
