I brought an old Samonsite suitcase with me, to bring a Brompton with me back from England after touring around on it, as per this informative video: https://youtu.be/ihlxnkhQE5Q?si=O0PnhR4P6ZOYpfrP The thing was, until tonight I hadn’t actually tried it, mainly because I wasn’t able to get the right pedal off. That’s happened and I happy to report that, with some fiddling my P-line 12-speed will go in.
The fiddling was:
– both pedals have to come off
– seat post has to come out
– my Ergon grips have to come off
– the rear rack has to come off
Off the bike, the pedals, seat and post, rack and helmet will all fit in, with a bit of room to spare for odds and ends.
Now for a week of touring in France, and after that I’m good to go to fly home with my Brompton.
