My uncle recently passed and left a couple of bikes to me. He used to be way into cycling and always like to have the newest shiniest tech. I know a little bit about bicycles but not a whole lot. I know the Scott is (or at least was) a quite pricey and nice bicycle. It's impressive how little it weighs. I never even knew there was such thing as electronically driven gear shifting.

What can you tell me about either of these two bikes? I'm still trying to decide whether to keep them and get more serious into riding. If I were to sell them, any suggestions on reasonable numbers? Thanks.

These are two very nice bikes.

The scott is a scott foil from 2018 if I’m not mistaken, I suspect it’s worth a little under 1k depending on your local market. I think it’s a great bike to get serious about riding if it fits you.

The conalgo will be a vintage steel bike I suppose, these can go for a bit of money but you’d have to look into it more as it’s a collectors market at this point

  2. The Scott is from the early 2010s, judging by the external battery. Early era aero road bikes like these don’t have very high demand as they have a bad reputation for harsh rides.

The Colnago Super is likely a 70s model and has a high reputation among collectors and retro enthusiasts.

the colnago is a beautiful beautiful bike do not ever sell it if that was your plan. C’mon man it’s your grandpa’s colnago. It’s definitely has more sentimental value + cool value than the probably $500 you’d get for it. Clean it up and hang it on the wall

If you want to ride and you’re the right height, these bikes will fit someone who’s 6’0″ – 6’2 ish (YMMV). The Scott is ready to ride, the Colnago needs a little TLC/tune up.

The Scott is probably worth $700-$1000 on craigslist/marketplace. Marginally more money if you part it out, maybe. The Colnago looks all original, it could be worth $1500-$2000 to the right buyer but may take some time to find that buyer. Parted out, you might make $1,500 but it’ll take even longer to find the right buyers for stuff like “Colnago OE fluted seatpost” which is something that has a lot of value to the right person.
