Just installed a Ride Now TPU tube, but the valve is too long for my shallow rims. The lock nut can't tighten down as it is running out of thread. Is it okay to ride like this, or will it cause issues? Any ideas for a fix? Thanks!
Not a problem, the nut is not really necessary anyway.

Might just rattle a bit. You can always add a spacer to take up the slack, but don’t tighten it so much it tears the tube.

Is the black part supposed to be in the rim?

You know the purpose of the nut ?
It is there only to prevent you from accidentally pushing the wave into the rim. 5mm threads would be fine.

You can just place an extra spacer of a spare tire in between.

I put a couple rubber spacer that I bought at Home Depot to fill the gap.

Those threads should go down far enough to create a seal with the o-ring. Not sure about the black washer but I would bet it goes on the inside of the rim causing the threads to go down far enough to do their job.
