


I’m servicing Mavic Cosmos (yes, not cosmic) wheelset and want to change the freehub, but can’t get my hand on the correct model. There are no listings online that show this bottom part with star-shaped splines (pic. 2). All I can find are the same as in the picture 3. Maybe I disassembled it incorrectly since this is my first time servicing freehubs and that bottom part should’ve stayed in the hub shell.

That’s a very old wheel. Chances are slim you’ll find a replacement.

That is a ~25 year old wheel. Before spending any money on it, I would inspect the rim carefully for wear and fatigue.
The brake track is probably on its last legs, and I wouldn’t be surprised of the spoke holes were showing fatigue cracks. Alloy rims have a limited lifespan because of the nature of aluminum, and the forces applied to the rim.
Personally, I’d call that a wall hanger and shop for a new wheelset (but it’s not my bike or teeth)…
