I’d certainly remove those whole crank and BB and regrease as it sounds related.

The only other thing you could try is swapping pedals in case it’s a failed bearing there but if you’ve not service the bottom bracket in a while anyway it will be worth doing especially if you ride in all conditions.

I only ride dry and I fully serviced my bottom bracket at 5000km as I had a bit of clicking and it was fine straight after.

  2. I have the same issue. And as you said it appears at the moment when pedalling hard. I’ll stay on the loop to hear ideas what may cause this.

I chased a similar creak for months and I was able to fix it by putting a dab of grease on the pedal thread. Hope it’s the same for you. 👍

  4. Does it still happen when you’re out of the saddle? 9/10 times when people panic about the most expensive parts, the creaking noises come from the saddle and/or seatpost.

Have you tried tightening the pedals? Usually solved that type of sound when I worked as a bike mech

While you’re riding move the camera phone closer to various parts – left pedal, right pedal, bb, headset, saddle, saddle clamp, cassette.

You’ll soon find where it comes from as the noise gets louder when you’re pointing at the culprit.

Having said that, my money is on the pedal.
