Bike packing the Perimeter of Britain fundraising for Movember – Day 4

[Applause] Good morning and welcome to day four of cycling the perimeter of Britain fundraising for Movember. Day four was a go and I slept terribly last night. I was staying above a karaoke bar and got probably maybe 4 hours of sleep and ended up riding basically on a beach for quite a big section this morning. The uh the good thing was it was a tailwind and I had some great company for the first maybe 100 odd kilometers with these two gents. Thank you very much for coming out. Really appreciated it. And then I got a puncher. Plugged it. We managed to get away with it. But there was a lot of sealant escaping the bike unfortunately. Is what it is. These things happen. Still towing along over the Humber Bridge which is pretty cool. Uh an absolutely iconic bit of design, shall we say? Uh it goes straight into hole that does. And yeah, there was loads of storm bugs. I don’t know if you can really see it, but I got covered in little bugs all on my arms riding along today on my legs as well. And then it rained. It was going to happen. First bit of rain of the trip. I think there’s going to be more coming, but yeah, it’s kind of nice to get the first bit out the way. And then Simon, who I met a couple of years ago, guided me into Scarra on some cycle tracks like this. And then also on an amazing bit of closed road, actually with some pretty impressive views like that over the coast. Absolutely stunning. We pose for a little photo.
