This is rear axle off a Schwinn freewheel ten speed. I have been to two bike shops and the closest one is I’ve come is “special order, $60”. Even online I am having a hard time finding a replacement, they don’t seem to match. 3/8” by 135mm. There should be millions of these floating around and practically free. Am I blind? What’s going on?

Are you sure it’s 3/8×24 thread? QR axles are typically 10mm x 1.0mpt.
