‘91 Merlin with the infamous Suntour greaseguard bb. Swapped 8spd (DA 7400) to 10spd with new 103 JIS spindle, DA 7410 crankset (square taper), DA 7800 everything else. Woundup fork, CK hubs & Belgium+ rims.
Many folks weld in new bb’s when their Suntour craps the bed but decided to take a gamble and try this build after a ton of research. Not sure it’s been done on another Merlin.
First ride out & need to make a few minor adjustments but everything went swimmingly!

I’m trying to decide if I can fit another bike in the garage since I realized that one can get used Merlin frames on eBay for under $1k.
