Day 9: Strasbourg to Basel

Big ride of 134km today from Strasbourg to Basel!

Then as a reward for all that hard work, sight seeing in Basel!

Good morning. This is the start of day eight. We’re leaving Strasburg nice and early in the morning, just before 8:00, and it’s lovely and cool. Hopefully going to clock up quite a few miles before it gets hot today. And it will get hot. See you later. [Music] Hey, we’ve done 50 km. Had we stop at a petistry for a lovely chicken sandwich and some tarts? Uh, now we’re carrying on. So, hello. So, we’ve done 62 km in uh 3 hours. Um, which is really good cuz it’s not even lunch yet. We’re getting closer and closer to Basil. See you there. Hi. Hi. We’re on these beautiful French cycle paths. We’ve just observed that the cycle path is as big as, if not bigger than the road, which is pretty cool. And we’re having a great time. We’ve done about 75k today. It’s warm but not roasting. And I think we’ve got 16k until we get to the next peticery, which by the way are fantastic. See you later. We’re going to get We’re going to get cooled down here, aren’t we? As we go into this massive spring. [Music] Wat. [Music] All right, we’re just outside of Basil now. Probably 15 km to go. It’s been a really lovely day. A really long ride today, but we’re having a great time. Look at this beautiful scenery. Ah, we’re in paradise. Me and Alex are just about to jump in. We’ve got our bags, our inflatables to keep us afloat and to keep our stuff in. And then we’re going to let the current drag us 3 km downstream. And then we’re going to get out and grab a shower and grab some dinner. Wish us luck. Basil is happening. We’ve just been for a swim in the Rine and now we’re walking along the banks of the Rine looking for something to eat and listening to live music. Awesome. Thank you all so much for the donation.
