Recently received my new Endurace CF SLX and had a good first few rides on it. But on my third ride it started to develop a creaking/ticking noise on every pedal stroke, usually when under heavier load (I’m not a super strong cyclist).
If it wasn’t so new, I’d have guessed it needed a new bottom bracket but this seems unlikely being so new.
Planning to book it in to the local Canyon service location but wanted to see if anyone else has had similar or could advise what it might be.

  1. If the noise is at every pedal stroke, exactly at the same position in the stroke, then it must come from either the pedals, the cranks or the BB.

  2. Pedals greased and secured well? If you did not coat the threads well you might have some creaking coming from there. On a new bike it’s more likely to be that than the bottom bracket.

My seat post was doing that. Not enough carbon paste. It sounded like the drivetrain based on every pedal stroke but it was enough movement in the saddle to make a noise every pedal. Try putting a ton of the paste on the inside and on the seat post and see if it helps.

  4. Some great advice here, thanks! I will grease up the pedals and add more carbon paste to the seat post and report back in the morning after tomorrow’s ride!
