How do I start for today? Let’s just say I’m pretty worn out as I think it is to be expected six days into this trip. Bite packing the perimeter of Britain, fundraising for Movember. I think this is day six. Definitely feeling pretty tired today. Yesterday was a [ __ ] day and uh so I’m going to get to Edinburgh today and my plan is to have a day of just resting and recovering, staying in Edinburgh for a day and just sort of getting getting my ducks in a row. So last night my mates Jimmy, Emily, and Bella came and rescued me after all the mechanicals and issues I was having. And then basically the plan was to get to Edinburgh and have a day off, which was definitely going to be needed for tomorrow. I got the big guns out, the old jelly babies, one of the best. Don’t know if you can see how swollen up my hands are. They’re [ __ ] awful. And then the next thing that happened was my Di2 died, but thankfully I had a spare battery. And with the new XTR mech, it’s pretty easy to just take the battery out and swap it out, which is really good. I ended up riding on the A1 for a while, which is a a road which I don’t recommend anyone ever cycles on. It’s not particularly fun or nice, but you get to see the Scottish sign, welcoming into Scotland, where I decided to slap some stickers on the sign because why not? And then slowly getting back more into Scotland, things got a bit better. This was kind of the the last big climb of the day, which was pretty steady actually. And then I got joined by my mates Sam and Sophie for the last like 65k coming back into Edinburgh. It was awesome to catch up with these two. I haven’t seen either of them in what feels like ages. And they showed me their amazing magical Jedi Master water fountains. Really quite cool. We visited a few beaches on our way into Edinburgh and the road along the prominard. And then my mate Mark came out and rode with us for a little bit as well. And then Sophie and Sam very kindly took me out to dinner to have an amazing pizza. [Music]
