it is not ideal, but also unavoidable with only one chainring. ideally you’d fit a cassette and a chainring that has you in the middle of the cassette most of the time and at the extremes only on the steepest of climbs/descents.

It’s normal, not much else that can happen. A cassette is as wide as it is.
You should be in the middle most of the time anyway.
