Just clean them. I think it’s your breaking pads wearing down

How old are the Rotors? Those are Shimano icetecs. It’s an aluminum rotor sandwiched between two pieces of steel for the braking surface.
It’s possible you’ve worn through the braking surface and need to replace the rotor. If so, I’d recommend trp Rotors instead – they are solid steel and won’t have that issue.

Your brake pads are fluttering / chattering in the caliper, they are not staying flat against the piston face and thus they are not staying flat against the rotor. This style of rotor (with radial slots instead of evenly spaced holes) is infamous for causing chattering pads because braking force is heterogeneous, areas with more metal provide more grip than areas with less metal and so there’s a rhythmic pulsing on the pads that can set up a harmonic chatter.
What caliper are you using? What pads?
If there isn’t a problem you’re trying to solve (“performance was ok” / “weird sound when braking medium hard”) then I wouldn’t worry about it. All setups chatter to *some* extent.

Apologize for the highjack.
But I have a new road bike and first time disc brakes. I notice a light rattle when I drop the bike tire on the ground.
It appears to be coming from the front hydraulic disc brake.

Is this normal?
