😱 Hope you’re OK? I’ve had that happen on other bikes in the rear, it was a pinch flat, that’s why I now keep my Brompton at 100 psi.
Any idea what caused it? were you braking down a long, steep hill and overheated the rim? I fear that sometimes if I ever take a long bike tour in the Alps!

How often did you check your rims for wear(?). Brake blocks & rims wear out. Looks like yours became to thin & the pressure of the tyre blew it apart.

Dear god, you are one lucky cookie.
That wheel was dead well before your tyre exploded. You need to monitor the wear on your rims – I’ve never seen such badly worn rims.
Get your front one checked. Put a flat edge across the rim; if you can see more than 1mm of daylight underneath (ie the surface is curved), you need a new rim.

Fortunately, you‘re unharmed. As I would see from your pics, your Bromton ist due for a complete review/renovation. Do yourself the favour to ask a Brompton shop or at least a bike shop for evaluation and repair. It won‘t be cheap but a Brommie is always worth the care and efforts.

Oof, that’s brutal. How old is the bike and how many kilometers you rode on it?
Parts are available at any store that sells Bromptons or online. Looks like bike overall needs a bit of service.
