This restoration took way too long.
Got the frame about a year ago, treated it for rust and repainted it while keeping the patina.
I masked the old decals before painting, that's how I was able to retain them.
Then it was sourcing the parts and depairing about the quirks and weirdness of old french parts.
I actually had to swap the crank out, because I didnt have french thread pedals.
I will swap out the seat for a more classic one and I am still unsure if I will keep this long stem or will mount a shorter one.
Either way, I just wanted to share it because I am very proud of this one.

  1. Forgot to mention the details.
    14-24 6 speed freewheel and a 53-42 crank.
I got lucky with the wheels, they are Campagnolo and I got them for 100 euros with a flip bike.
Once I have decided what stem and seat to use, I will match the tape.
The 28mm tyres feel sacriligeous though, rides nice doesn’t match the classic look.
    Will get tanwalls.
I just wanted to ride it finally.

You did a really good job on the paint resto, looks like an old bike that was well looked after. I like the look of the current tyres, black and silver is always a good combo
