[Music] Racing into the weekend at Jiro Ditalia women and the battle from Belaria Eia Marina to Ter Roaresque over 145 km would be a challenging one. 2,368 m of elevation, 139 riders reporting for duty after a bruising week. Lisa Longo Borgghini, the reigning champion and the Italian national road race champion. All smiles at the start. The red jersey on the shoulders of Lena Weas after her stage five success. All smiles in the neutralized section. Marlon Royster leading the race overall. And when the flag came in, plenty of activity in the first hour of racing. racing clear to take some useful points towards the Queen of the Mountains classification. We saw Oto Laza Sigante scoring from the main pelaton behind to preserve her situation. Later on at the intermediate sprint, Lewis Alles of the FDJ Suez squad racing clear. Anna Henderson in pursuit. The stage two winner for the lead track squad. not quite able to link up with Anna Henderson and Lorena Weas taking care of business behind in the main pelaton to scoop some points as she reinforced her position at the head of the red jersey classification. pursued by Laza as they approach the second classified climb of the day. Laza scoring the points that would take her briefly ahead of Sarah Jagante in the battle for the Malata. Later a very strong group assembling out front. Ruth Edwards on the attack throughout the day. Ga Castelline showing the scars of battle. Difficult day for her. She raced back to the group later on. But more tough racing would ensue. Amanda Sprat third in 2019. Nero datalia and looking to relive old glories as she raced to take the top points at the final classified climb of the day and plunged down over the top of that climb to increase her advantage at front pursued by Casola and Labus. Meanwhile, cool came collected in the wheels of the favorites group. Marlon Royster preserving her pink jersey ambitions and happy enough to let other riders race clear. And then Leanne Liippard launched from the group of favorites. The movie star rider linking up with the trio out front. Sprat Casula and Labus joined by a very strong rider from the Movi Star squad. Then Pena Royakers who lost time on general classification on stage five looking to repair the damage by a counterattack and very quickly making her way up to make it a five rider group up front. Edwards not quite able to follow. She went within a few seconds of joining the group, but ultimately would drop back into the clutches of the group of favorites. down to the final 20 kilometers and this group of five linking well to open up an advantage approaching a minute over the Maron Royer pink jersey group as they approach the final 10 km and a ramp up towards the finish in Terry Roaresque. The group up front started to splinter inside nine to go and then we had an attack from Alisa Longo Borggini trying to shave the deficit of 16 seconds to Marlon Royer. Royer attentive and stayed on terms. No gain for Longo Borggini up front. Lean Liippard pressing on joined by Palenno Royakers. Shiran Van Androy launching from the favorites group third on the road but the leading duo had the stage between them. Vanroy never getting to uh much less than half a minute behind Libert and Royers into the final kilometer. Royakers leading up the final ramp before they plunge through the final 300 meters. Mean Liippard through the final bend launching her fabled sprint to take a second career Jirro Datalia stage success. The second victory in 12 months. Her first win in 12 months. Last coming on stage six of the 24uro. Repeating her stage six glory. Roy Aker’s second position. Some bonus seconds for her and a big gain on general classification. But Libert all smiles. Second victory of the week for the Movie Star squad as their rider Marlon Royer remains at the head of general classification with penultimate stage to come. Sarah Jagante maintaining a narrow lead overall in the battle for the Queen of the Mountains classification. Antonio Neidmar remaining at the top of the young rider classification. and Lena Weas with an enhanced advantage in the points lead.
