Looking at my first road bike: found a barely used 2024 Canyon Endurance 7 AL, priced €500 below retail.

I’m 1.76 with an 82cm inseam. Canyon’s size guide puts me at S, but very close to M.
The bike is size M — I’ll test it before buying, but as a beginner, I’m unsure.

Would size M likely be an issue for my measurements? As this bike is second half, only size alternative would be a different bike. Any advice appreciated.

Honestly take S, you would suffer on a M. I’m 183cm and 84 inseam and M is my size.

  2. Go test it, but i would say you will be fine, you can usually make it work with one size too small, or too big. I bought canyons recommended size L, and i wish i had taken an XL.

Your size is an S, I would not suggest buying a bike that’s too big, it will be a challenge to be comfortable on the bike and that’s what cycling is all about after all. I bought an M Canyon and I was just in M territory (not close like you), and I have had severe neck pain which made me have to swap out my cockpit for a shorter stem. You’re not even in M territory so save yourself the hassle and buy a bike that fits you!

Bought a grizl 8 cf sl in M and it’s too big.
Tried out an S and it would be perfect
