I’ve got a stock 2018 sequoia elite I’m looking to upgrade. I’m finding myself riding majority paved road (80%) with a sprinkling of gravel and single track. I find the stock wheels for the bike to be really heavy and have seen similar sentiment online, but am kind of lost with figuring out what is actually compatible with the bike/drivetrain I have. The wheels pictured are on marketplace for a decent deal, and I think they’ll work but I’m really not sure. The technical specs on specialized’s website are somewhat nondescript. Any advice?

  1. Here’s what you want to look for:
    – Wheel size (700c vs 650b): they look to both be 700c
    – tyre clearance: the 40s on the Reynolds are smaller than the 42s that are stock, so you’re good
    – axle type: many gravel bikes use a 12×100 front, 12×142 rear. Your sequoia and the reynolds seem to match those, but you should check to make sure.
