And yes, those communities mentioned were all separated by kilometers of rural gravel roads. Just a little fun after seeing that other post about a 1970s steel bike with knobby tires. They were doing this back in the 1890s!

Well bicycles existed before paved roads did so by our modern definition of ‘gravel riding’ (being any sort of trail/path unpaved) essentially ALL riding was gravel riding.
