My helmet saved my head, and my backpack saved my back. I also had gloves and thick closing on since it was wintertime. Police asked if I was okay, adrenaline made me not feel any pain for a good couple of hours, till the pain kicked in… Ride defensively and definitely wear helmet when riding with cars.
I’m sorry this happened to you. I have had to avoid that exact collision many times. In my state, Nevada, a cyclist has right of way if they are going straight, not a car turning right. No one here seems to know that.
