I’m looking to buy a used bike and have plans to meet the seller for this 2017 Specialized Dolce Sport for $400 USD. Wondering if this is a good deal and if there’s anything a bike noob like me should look for before making a final decision! Hope this is a good deal!

what’s your budget? For me personally I’d not buy a road bike with rim brakes and components less than 105, but it will stretch your budget a bit. Maybe save up a bit more money, in range of $600-$800, you will be open to more solid bikes with 105 groupset and disc brakes.
$400 seems a bit high for a base bike with compact crank set. Bike may have been $800-1,000 new. Tires are good but absolutely cheap, wheels may be original. It’s a good bike, dead simple to repair and cheap parts. Have you seen any comparables on bicyclebluebook?
