Hey folks — just wanted to introduce myself.

I’ve been doing long-distance cycling since the 1970s, and I’m still touring now in my 60s. Most recently, I’ve ridden from San Diego to New Mexico, across Texas and Louisiana, and still ride 100+ miles a week. My legs may be older, but they’re still moving!

I also blog about cycling from a senior’s perspective — gear I love, stories from the road, health lessons (like cycling with knee pain), and how the joy of the ride doesn’t fade with age.

Looking forward to swapping stories and picking up ideas from everyone here.

What's the best tour you’ve ever done — and what made it special?

My cousin and his two friends are in the early 70’s and still ride everywhere together. Last year they rode from Los Angeles to Manhattan.

Well, you’re *One Of* The Old Bicycle Guys. Many bike tourists are old. 😁

  3. Sort of cool, but also so what? I am probably older than you, and I am just someone who rides a bike a lot

  4. Isn’t there that German guy who must be in his 80s by now who left on a bike tour in his 20s and then decided to never stop? Who traveled around the world by bike? I think he eventually switched to a Brompton for multimodal travel.
