Welcome to the Wonder Garden Channel! orchids are a flower loved by many people however after buying an orchid pot and the flowers have fully bloomed many people don’t know how to care for the plant to make it bloom again in today’s video I will share with you a method to revive orchids after their flowers have faded what’s special is that we will only use simple familiar ingredients from the kitchen things that many people often throw away with this method your orchids will quickly recover grow back and be ready for a new blooming season let’s watch the entire video to explore the detailed steps if you have orchids that have finished blooming like this don’t rush to throw them away I will guide you on how to revive them in a simple and effective way first gently remove the industrial plastic pot from the orchid you can see that most industrially grown orchids are planted in moss a common growing medium due to its excellent water retention ability however when brought home if the amount of water used for watering is not controlled the moss will retain moisture for too long creating conditions for bacteria and fungi to develop this can easily cause the orchid to become waterlogged leading to root rot and gradual death therefore the first and most important step is to completely remove the old moss from the plant’s root system in addition to the English voice we have now created dubbed voices in French German Italian Spanish Portuguese Japanese Hindi and Indonesian to help you understand the content more easily listen in your preferred language by opening the video and clicking on settings the gear icon to select the appropriate audio language after removing all the moss I will use specialized Scissors to cut away all the damaged roots roots that are rotten dry soft or have turned dark brown typically no longer function to absorb water and nutrients keeping them can spread diseases to the plant cutting them away helps the plant focus its energy on developing new healthier roots which country are you watching this video from it’s wonderful that we can connect with each other from all over the world if you haven’t subscribed to the channel yet please hit the subscribe button to support me and not miss any orchid care tips for the flower stem cut it off and leave a segment like this leaving a portion of the stem helps the plant avoid losing too much energy while the remaining nutrients in the flower stem will flow back becoming a reserve of nutrients for the plant during the recovery phase after cutting away all the disease parts of the orchid I will rinse the entire plant with clean water this helps remove dust bacteria and any remaining pathogens on the stem and roots cleaning thoroughly creates better conditions for the plant to absorb nutrients during the recovery phase and reduces the risk of reinfection by fungi or bacteria from open cuts on the roots to treat the orchid I will use agricultural lime I use 2 teaspoons of agricultural lime mixed with 500 milliliters of clean water then stir the solution thoroughly the clear lime water has excellent disinfectant properties and I often use it to treat orchids before replanting let it sit for 30 minutes to allow the lime powder to settle at the bottom after 30 minutes I will carefully decant the clear lime water from the top avoiding the sediment at the bottom finally I dilute this clear lime water with an additional 2 liters of clean water to create a solution that is gentle enough and won’t harm the orchid’s roots when used soak the entire orchid in this clear lime water solution for 30 minutes this step will help thoroughly disinfect the plant cleaning any remaining fungi and bacteria on the roots and stem afterward I use a soft cotton pad soaked in the solution to gently wipe both sides of the leaves wiping the leaves not only helps remove dust and bacteria from the surface but also ensures the leaf environment remains airy reducing the risk of disease reinfection especially in sensitive areas like the leaf base and leaf axles while the plant is soaking I will prepare the growing medium for replanting the orchid the main growing medium I’m using today is pine bark a popular medium that is airy and highly suitable for the development of orchid roots to sterilize the pine bark I place it all into a large container and then pour boiling water over it to completely submerge the medium like this the high temperature will help eliminate bacteria fungi and insect eggs remaining on the pine bark making the medium cleaner and safer for use the moss I use is also treated similarly with boiling water after the water has completely cooled I will remove all the pine bark and moss to drain at this step you need to note the growing medium should have moderate moisture neither too dry nor overly saturated the pine bark and moss after being treated with boiling water will become cleaner and safer for use with orchids while still retaining their natural moisture holding and airy properties after 30 minutes of soaking I will gently remove the orchid from the solution at this point you should use a clean cloth or soft paper to gently dry the roots especially areas with a lot of residual water gently drying will help limit excess moisture reducing the risk of root rot or creating conditions for bacteria and fungi to develop when replanting into the new medium next to replant this orchid I will use a transparent plastic pot with drainage holes at the bottom like this as usual I will line the bottom of the pot with a few small pieces of foam lining with foam not only increases aeration at the pot’s base but also supports better drainage minimizing the risk of water accumulation that could cause root rot now I will place the orchid into the pot gently letting the roots settle at the bottom then I begin filling pine bark around the root system to secure the plant pine bark is a highly favored medium for growing orchids because of its high aeration moderate moisture retention and ability to support healthy root development additionally pine bark has natural antibacterial properties helping to limit fungal diseases and create a clean environment for the orchid to grow when filling with pine bark you should handle it gently to avoid damaging the young newly sprouted roots while ensuring the roots still have space to breathe and spread out in the growing environment the most important thing when repotting an orchid is that you must secure the plant firmly in the pot if the plant wobbles in the pot the roots will struggle to develop and may get damaged during the recovery process I will use a small iron rod like this to secure the plant’s stem insert the iron bar into one side of the pot then use a clamp to gently clamp the flower stem onto the iron bar keeping the plant upright and stable for the flower stem I’ll use a thin sharp knife to cut away the damaged parts applying a bit of cinnamon powder to the cut to prevent bacteria and fungi from entering while also helping the cut heal faster finally cover the surface of the pot with a thin layer of moss this moss layer helps retain moisture on the surface of the growing medium creating ideal conditions for stable development of young roots the moss also helps maintain humidity around the plant’s base especially in the early days after repotting when the plant hasn’t yet developed new roots additionally the moss layer helps regulate temperature reduces rapid water evaporation and creates a cool environment similar to the natural living conditions of orchids in the forest after repotting you should not water the plant immediately let the plant rest for 3 to 5 days in a cool airy place with diffused light this period allows the cuts on the roots and stem to fully heal preventing fungi and bacteria from entering keeping the plant dry in the first few days helps it gradually adapt to the new growing medium thereby reducing the risk of water shock and root rot after five days of letting the plant rest it’s time to provide nutrients to help the plant recover strongly today I will use a sprouted potato like this typically sprouted potatoes are discarded because they contain substances harmful to humans but few people know that the sprouts themselves are rich in auxin a natural plant growth hormone oxen plays a crucial role in stimulating the development of roots and new shoots not only the sprouts but also the potato peels are an excellent source of fertilizer for orchids potato peels contain many essential vitamins and minerals especially potassium phosphorus and B group vitamins important nutrients that help the plant grow healthy place all the sprouts and potato peels into a clean glass jar then I will add 500 milliliters of boiling water ensuring the water fully covers the materials the high temperature of the boiling water will help extract nutrients from the sprouts and peels while also providing light sterilization making the solution safer for use on orchids after adding the boiling water close the jar’s lid and let it steep for a few hours allowing valuable compounds like oxin potassium and vitamins to fully dissolve into the water creating a natural and nutrient rich tonic for the orchid three hours later when the nutrients from the sprouts and potato peels have fully dissolved into the water I will proceed to filter out the residue keeping only the clear nutrient rich liquid after that I will add 500 milliliters of clean water to dilute the solution making it easier for the plant to absorb and preventing root shock especially for orchids in the recovery phase the resulting solution will be used to water the orchid pot that was replanted five days ago at this point the plant is starting to recover and adding nutrients from the potato will help stimulate strong root growth while supporting the formation of new shoots and flower buds more quickly after watering place the plant in a cool airy location with gentle diffuse light and avoid direct sunlight the remaining solution will be poured into a misting spray bottle to evenly spray onto the leaves of other plants in the garden the solution from potato sprouts and peels is rich in natural nutrients like vitamins minerals and auxin helping to enhance vitality green up leaves and stimulate root and bud development this is an effective and completely organic way to care for your entire garden simply mist lightly onto the leaves and stems in the morning or cool afternoon and you will see the plants become healthier and greener day by day results after three weeks after a period of care you can see that the orchid has grown many new roots with healthy white roots extending and firmly anchoring into the growing medium the leaves have also become sturdier greener and shinier a clear sign that the plant is absorbing nutrients well recovering steadily and preparing for the next growth cycle this revival is proof of proper care and effective use of natural materials from your Home Garden without the need for chemicals or specialized stimulants you can still care for your orchids to grow vigorously stay lush green and bloom regularly let’s admire the vibrant flowers cared for 100% with natural materials with love and care one day you will receive a worthy reward beautiful vibrant wonder Garden, bonjour de France, la chaux encore un nouveau produit pour moi, je ne connaissais pas merci et surtout je suis à chaque vidéo impressionné par votre habilité pour le nettoyage des feuilles, moi j'ai toujours peur de les casser. Prospérité à vous.🍀👋
Pourquoi ne pas passer tous les produits naturels que vous proposez au mixeur et les filtrer après ?. Nous devrions peut être récupérer encore plus de nutriments ( je pense ).🤷💐
Well I followed every step you did I even bought the necessary items from your video links to try to root new babies from the stems. I even cut them with a razor blade like you did and guess what it's been a month and the stem is still green, setting in the foam and the little bit of water doing nothing. I don't know if you do things behind the scenes to the orchids to make your videos go viral or not and I don't even know if you can give me an answer as to why my Orchid stems aren't having little babies?
