Hi all
I replaced the bearings in my Bitex front hub about 500 km ago since the old ones where gritty.
The new ones Are already going bad and are felling gritty and noisy. I also noticed a bit of water ingress.
I wash my mtb after muddy/wet rides and i’m just using a hose and no High pressure.
Did i buy the wrong bearings? Should I put grease between bearings and end caps? The picture shows the ones I installed.

That is a pivot bearing. Get a couple of Phil Wood bearings. And torque your axles to spec.
A layer of grease over the seal has become part of my standard maintenance routine, to prevent water and grit getting in.
If the pictured bearing is what you’re using, you bought the wrong ones. Enduro Max bearings are designed for suspension pivots, the bearings are cageless and not designed for continuous rotation. Also if you’re having issues with water ingress, try the stainless steel version. The enduro part number for these is S6903.
Looks like you find what you needed. I was just going to add, that if you email them, they will respond and help you find the right bearing. Enduro is awesome… they’ll seriously help with one bearing.
Apparently Enduro bearings aren’t the best, there’s a lot of discussion on the net about their quality. I also had enduro’s in my wheel set, and my front wheel bearings were done after a few months.
I replaced them with SKF bearings, they were highly recommended on a few forums here and there, so im curious how long they will hold up. They were only two/three euro’s more expensive then the Enduro’s
Washing your bike and using a lot of water/degreaser is also notorious for bearing wear, best is to take the wheels out and use a damp cloth and not a high pressure hose. Don’t let water/degreaser run into the hub, and let it dry thoroughly
