Llandaff Fields is a total hidden gem if you’re looking for green space in the city. It’s full of wide open fields, tree-lined paths, and just the right amount of quiet to feel like you’ve escaped the city without actually leaving it. Whether you’re here for a romantic picnic, a solo coffee stroll, or a catch-up with friends, there’s always something to see.

Watch local football or rugby games on the pitches

[Music] Hello and welcome to our little channel. We are Expedition Family Life. If you are new here, thank you so much for stopping by. Make sure to hit that subscribe button to get notified of all our little adventures. Today we’ve decided to come over to Lander Fields for a pizza. It’s actually me and Jen, which is unheard of because we never just have the two of us. So, Jen’s there enjoying the pizza, of course. Um, yeah, the pizza. There’s a little sort of cafe at Landerfields. Uh, they do pizzas, cakes, uh, hot dogs, burgers, coffees, all that sort of stuff. It’s quite nice in the winter with the coffees. um sort of coming over here for a walk. Um but the sun’s come out so we thought we just come over here for lunch. Why not? So having a pizza. It’s very nice pizza. Just a margarita pizza. They’re good. [Music] So you have got the car park here. So you get two hours for free. Um which is quite nice for a lunchtime. You can just come over, chill out for a little bit, park the car just there, and then you sort of drive in just on the entrance over there. Um, but it’s so nice in the fact that it’s technically slap bang in the middle of the city. So, you can also get um, like I said, coffees and things. So, Jen, I think has got an iced iced americano. An iced Americano. And I’ve got a cheeky little mocka cuz I like mockers. We are. So, we finished our pizza and our little coffee that we had. We’re going to take a nice little stroll around now. Take in the sun before we need to pick Eliza up from school. Um it’s been a lovely little afternoon. Um but at Lander Fields they do there’s a huge park that’s actually quite new. Um they do all sorts of sports here as well. So they do cricket, rugby, football. But it’s just nice to come along, throw your picnic blanket down, have a bit of a picnic, take it all in, relax, and just enjoy. And that’s what we’ve done now. So, like I said, we’re going to have a nice little walk around, I think. So, they’re doing a bit of construction here for So, coming soon. So, paddle. There we are. Coming to Landerfield. Yeah. Coming to Landerfields. Cuz all of this here used to be then there was a bowling sort of green here and then over there you had sort of tennis courts and things. So tennis courts still Oh, tennis courts are still there. Just over there over the mound. But yeah, paddle. We’ll have to check that out. Undercover as well, which is quite good. Yeah, it’s undercover. It’s nice that it is undercover. Thing is, it’s still going to allow enough air. See how many That’s got to be like six quarts. Yeah. Cool. Yeah. So, you can just make out just by there looks like freshly painted sort of tennis courts and things there. Um, which are all under construction and being built. That’s cool. And this side here, this sort of section here, that’s normally where they have or I think you can see the the crease, I think it’s called, in cricket. Um, so they have all the cricket here and then as you can see you’ve got all the sort of rugby posts and things over there. So I think this is normally your Saturday, Sunday in the season of rugby. Uh, it gets quite busy down here. It’s such a lovely place to be. Slap bang in the middle of Landuff which in its right is its own little city. It’s very nice. [Music] So that little crossroads that we came to there, if you carry carry on going that way takes you into Landuff where you got the Land of Cathedral. Um, and this this whole section here that we’ve just walked down here, this is where Libby learned to ride a bike which is really nice because we we actually lived in Landuff at the time, which is literally just up by there. So, you think it’s a what was it? A small I think it is a Sorry, I sold something invented. Um, a small leave lime tree. Small leaf lime tree. I think that’s what it is. But it smells beautiful. Oh, look at the new uh new apartments just there. overlooking all of this. What a view. What do we say that tree was like? The You said I said Yeah. The wamping willow. Yes. And what what’s the wamping willow do? [Music] Just like that. Thank you showing me off again camera. So there we have it. A lovely little afternoon here at Lander Fields. But uh it’s been so relaxing. Really, really nice. Had a coffee. We had a pizza. Enjoyed a walk around. Sun’s out. Fantastic. We’re off now to get Eliza from school.
