Is it normal for the text on a Canyon bike not to be painted or engraved into the frame? On the one I’m about to buy, it’s just a sticker. The seller says that’s completely normal — what do you guys think? The bike is the Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 9.0 2020.

That’s a sticker for sure. If you google that model you’ll see what the bike from factory looked like. Also, the seller parted out the Red group and replaced it with Force.

I saw your other post. I would skip this all together. There are a lot of better new bikes you can buy for the money.
Sus. Mine from 2018 doesn’t have stickers.
Painted on my Ultimate from 2019
it’s not
Stickers are not normal. They have been installed from the person you bought this bike from. Peel the stickers off und you will see the original black letters. Hopefully the stickers did not ruin the clear coat on the frame.
Painted on my 2013 ultimate
no. if it’s matte/satin, it should be A. a decal and B. the individual letters should be cutout.
Seller clearly didn’t like the more subtle canyon branding that came stock.
Confirming that a 2016 Endurace CF SLX is painted.
See my top tube pictured below, after an unfortunate gust of wind blew it from a pedal stand, and right into a pole. Last I checked, stickers don’t chip 😉

Hope you didn’t make the purchase. 😬
