Ride it!
You could add some pegs+ hubguards/guard sprocket if you want to learn how to grind.
But other then that just ride it. Replace parts that break and Overtime you will find out what you want to change on the bike.

Im still a beginner, I myself got back into the sport about 6 months ago, first thing I did was upgrade to double wall rims, switched to half link chain, sprocket with a guard (cinema), I have stronger WTP cranks on the way as well, a new headset, added 2 pegs.
I personally customized my grips, seat, pedals but those are more for appearance. Focus on the important parts. Rims/tires, cranks, chain, sprocket, hub guards. I may be missing something but I’m sure plenty here can help.
If you must replace anything & have the money, its gotta be the outer tubes & inner rim tape to CLOTH TAPE
Been noticing a decline in a lot of outer tubes from completes lately $30-40 gets you a sturdy set of tires that will last you way longer than the thin slippery ones that come stock
I got some blue colored churchills for my bike, I ride mostly streets so glass is a HUGE issue. The stock tires my sunday came with were absolutely hot dogwater, super thin and didn’t protect much. Also super slippery on the pavement, was the reason for my latest crash that left me with a ton of road rash. Go to a local bike shop and just ask to feel there tires, it will be heavier but you really want thicker tread & tires for street riding.
And for the rim tape, I guarantee if you remove the tubes it will be plastic rim tape, plastic rim tape tends to fold and crimp inner tubes and cuts them suuuuper easy. If anything just do this, its $5 and 20 minutes of time and saves you from getting a random “Wtf happened” flat tire 2 miles from your house!
Another recommendation, is the slime filler for tubes so that it seals your inner tubes in case a piece of glass or something does go through your tube, will keep you running till you can get new tubes!
And my final recommendation, check the inner tube width and outer tube width. If they dont match get tubes that match, for some reason a lot of completes come with inner tubes that dont really match for width (My sunday had 2.1 width inner tubes and 2.4 width tires for example…) Not the end of the world but its stressing the inner tube more than it needs to.
As you notice, all of my recommendations are for your tires, tires are important! Its what keeps you from walking home LOL
Final recommendation: Carry a hand pump, BIKE LOCK!!, basic tools to replace a tires & a spare inner tube on your rides, thank me later!
If you want some “Stylish” mods, get some caps for your valve stems on your tires, I put purple dice on mine to match my frame color, and you can replace the seat to match your bikes color!

When I got back into bmx I bought a kink complete and they can def hold up. Way better than completes when I was a kid.
No need for upgrades until a year or two or hard riding or you break something

Push the bars up so they are parallel with your fork or further up. But no just learn to bunny hop.

Hope you weren’t looking for a tech/modder hobby, because this is more a run it until it breaks sort of thing.

Ride, break, replace, repeat
I’d just take the reflectors off
You could change the headset if the headset is a ball bearing headset. I always recommend changing headsets to a sealed non integrated headset.
Pop the old cups out. Put new cups in n BAM! A sealed headset…you can always do this with your bottom bracket as well. Find out what size bottom bracket it is and you can find a non integrated sealed bottom bracket
