  1. Not the end of the world. Top tubes, especially steel, can handle a dent like that without compromising the bike.

I’d be rather upset, but it’s steel so it’s probably fine. Inspect closely for cracks with a magnifying glass

  3. It’s a small dent with no crease – it’ll be fine. Keep an eye for changes but I’ve seen many frames with significantly worse damage than that in much higher stress areas that have gone on for years and years without issue. If you’re really bothered, fill with filler and repaint.

Should be fine. I have a similar small dent in a top tube (bike fell, end of the drop bar hit the tube) for about three years now. Bike used for touring with panniers and stuff. So far, no sign of problems. Big adventage of cro mo frames over carbon.

  5. Happened to my Thorn Sherpa touring bike. Fell over onto a bench during an earthquake of all things. I’ve accepted it and does not ruin the integrity of the bike, I spoke to the owner of the company. I’ll never be able to sell the bike on the second hand market if I choose to. Oh well.

harmless. They used to make tools to roll stuff like that out. I wouldn’t worry.

Time to slap on that cool sticker that you picked up at a show but never knew what to put it on.
